Introduction to Photos
The Photos feature allows you to upload photos and share them across the web. You can use the bulk media uploader to add up to 100 photos at a time to your profile page, or import photos from your Flickr account. You can even create albums of photos that have been uploaded to the PawsitivelyTexas network.

Upload photos to your social network from your computer
Using the bulk media uploader, you can add up to 100 photos at a time. We support photos the following formats: .jpg, .png, and .gif.

To upload photos, go to the Photos tab and click the "Add Photos" link.

By default, you'll be able to use the bulk uploader to add up to 100 photos at a time to the social network. The first time you use the uploader, you'll see a pop-up window that says "This applet was signed by Ning Inc and authenticated by VeriSign Inc. Do you trust this certificate?" Click the "Trust" button to proceed.

In the left pane, find the photos on your computer. To upload them, double click on a photo or drag and drop a photo or a whole folder to the right pane title "Photos to Upload." You can drag and drop the photos within the right preview pane to re-order them. To remove photos, you can drag and drop them outside of the preview pane or highlight them and press the "Delete" key.

Once you're ready to upload, click the "Next" button.

It's important, but not necessary, to add information about the photos and select who will be able to view the photos. To apply the same information to all of the photos in the batch, fill out the top portion under "Edit Information for All Photos." Then click the button to "Apply this info to the photos below." You can individually override this information by filling out individual photo information below the batch edit.

If you're experiencing issues with the bulk uploader, you can always use the simple uploader by clicking the link to "Return to our simple uploader" at the bottom of the page.

How do I change my profile photo?
To change your profile photo on a social network you already belong to, click the "Settings" link on the upper right side of the page. Click on the photo icon next to "Your Photo." A small window will pop open. Click the "Browse" button under "Upload an image from your computer." Locate an image on your computer and click "Done." When you upload a new photo, the old one will be deleted.

New profile photos can take up to thirty minutes to show up on social networks you belong to, so don't worry if your new photo doesn't appear immediately!

How do I delete a photo?
To delete a photo, go to that photo's detail page. Below the photo you'll find a "Delete Photo" link.

Send in photos by phone or email
When you join PawsitivelyTexas.com, a unique email address is assigned to your profile. You can use this email address to send photos and videos in one at a time to our network. If your cell phone has a camera and email, this is a great way to add camera phone photos to PawsitivelyTexas.com on the go! Any photo or video you send in to your unique email-in address will be added to the network as uploaded by you.

To find your email-in address and to get started, click the "Settings" link in the right column of the page. At the bottom of the page, locate the "Useful addresses" section. You'll find your email-in address under "Add by phone." it should look like a combination of your name on the social network and a few numbers, and the domain will be the URL of PawsitivelyTexas.com.

When you email in photos using this address, the subject of your email becomes the photo's title and any text in the body of the email will become the description of the photo.

How do I create a photo album?
You can create a photo album on the network that includes any of the photos on PawsitivelyTexas.com, even those you didn't upload. To create an album, head to the Photos tab and click the "All Albums" page.

Next, click the link to "Add an Album" in the right corner of the page. On the album creation page, you can select whether you want to choose from just your photos or from everyone's photos on the network. You can also choose from only photos with a specific tag, or keyword.

The photos matching your search options will appear in the left page below. Drag the photos you want to be in your album to the right pane. Give your album a title and a description, and add an album cover.

Click "Save" and you have a new album! The GREAT thing about our Album features is the ability to post the Album(s) on other websites and blogs. This can be a very effective way to increase awareness and public education about the needs of animals in Texas!

Who can see my photos?
You can decide who is able to view your photos on the network. When you upload a photo, you can choose whether the photo is viewable to "Anyone," "Just My Friends" or "Just Me." If you want to change the privacy setting on a specific photo, go to the photo detail page. Click the "Edit Photo" link underneath the photo.

Then select the new privacy setting you would like and click "Save Changes."

By default, when you upload a photo, the privacy setting is set to viewable by "Anyone." If you would like to change this default, click the "Settings" link in the upper right corner of the page; then click "Privacy" in the left column. The first question on this page sets your default privacy level for photos. Any photo you upload will have this as the default setting which you can choose to override on a case-by-case basis as you upload photos. Changing this setting will not change the privacy setting on any previously uploaded photos.

Can I post photos, videos, or music to a group?
Right now, Groups don't have their own photo, video or music sections. You can, however, attach or embed photos to a forum post or add them to the group's text box; simply click on the photo icon link at the top of the text box. You can also embed music players from other networks and videos into the group's text box or in a discussion.

How do I change the order of photos in a slideshow?
The best way to change the order of photos in a slideshow is to put them in an album. As you create your album, you can put the photos in any order you would like. Once you create the album, you can use the "View Slideshow" link on the album detail page to see your slideshow.

Remember, you can use the "Embed" link in the upper right corner of the slideshow/album to add it to other pages on PawsitivelyTexas.com (such as your profile page, forum or group discussions, or a Classified Ad post) as well as other networks, websites, blogs, and sites that allow html code such as Craigslist ad posts.

To change the order of photos in your album once it's been created, go to the album's page and click the "Edit Album" link.

How do I comment on a photo or video?
To interact with other members on PawsitivelyTexas.com, you can add comments to their profile page or any of their photos, videos, or blog posts. Just type your thoughts in the "Add a Comment" box below the piece of content you're commenting on. Don't be shy (but do be pleasant and respectufl) - if you see an interesting photo, a funny video, or a blog post, let the author know by leaving a comment on the photo, video, or blog post. But please remember we are a community committed to the welfare of animals, so please be respectful of others and our community guidelines!

Add a description to a photo
When you upload photos to the network, you have the option to add a title and a description to your photo.

You can also edit any photo once you've uploaded it. You can rotate the photo, add or edit the tags you've given it, change the title, description, location, and change the privacy settings of the photo.

To edit a photo you've uploaded, head to that photo's detail page. On the right side under the photo, you'll see the options for edits. Directly from the photo's detail page, you can rotate it or add or edit your tags by clicking the "Rotate photo" or "Edit your tags" links.

To edit the title, description, location, and privacy settings of the photo, click the "Edit photo" link. You'll be taken to a page where you can make any or all of these changes to your photo.

***Important***
Please take a moment to add tags/keywords to your photos and discussion posts. Members use these tags/keywords in their network searches and will enable members who share your interests to find your content.

How do I find all photos or videos with the same tag?
On the photo or video detail page, click on the tag you want to know more about to see all photos or videos with the same tag. Alternatively, you can manually type any tag into the in-network search area at the top right corner of any page on PawsitivelyTexas.com.
